Christie's New York Sale Nov12
The sale at Christie's New York on Wednesday night in which close to one third of the 75 lots found no buyers.
More than half, a full 52 percent of the lots sold below the low estimate
and Christie's guaranteed the sale of 39 lots, 12 of which didn't sell,
which had a combined low estimate of $48 million.
The Bacon and a big Richter didn’t sell and number of works that couldn’t find buyers.
"Untitled (Boxer)" by Jean-Michel Basquiat. An acrylic and oil paintstick on linen painting from 1982. Lars Ulrich, the drummer for the heavy metal band Metallica, sold the nearly eight-foot wide painting for $13.5 million, above the $12 million estimate.

And that collection of 16 drawings sold by Lehman Brothers Chief Executive Richard S. Fuld Jr. and his wife, Kathy, brought in $13.5 million a bit below the low estimate of $15 million for the collection.
"Woman" by Willem de Kooning, a graphite, charcoal, pastel and oil on paper work executed in 1951. One of the Kathy Fuld drawings was estimated to fetch between $3-4 million but sold for $2.8 million. [from bloomberg]
