What is the primary art market:
Contemporary art produced in, say, the last 10 years.
Purchasing primary market works is much riskier although the works are generally less expensive and the potential much greater.
The secondary art market:
Secondary market artworks have a documented track record;
they've been bought and sold over time and are traded at auction and can be a safer buy, but they also tend to be more expensive.
