Christie's Will Auction Art Collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge
Christie's International will auction off the art collection belonging to Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge.
Pierre Berge was business partner of late French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
In 1958 Pierre Berge met Yves Saint Laurent. They went on to found the Couture House together in 1961.
He was C.E.O. of Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture to the close in 2002. He is now the President of The Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.
The auction will be held in association with Pierre Berge & Associates in Paris in February 2009.
The art collection includes works by Picasso, Warhol, Mondrian, Matisse, and Goya. It is rumored to be worth as much as $599 million.
