Berlin Opening Museum to Vampires, Monsters, Spooks Art
The latest new museum opening in Berlin is home to Max Ernst's monsters, Goya's spooks, and Dubuffet's fantastic collages.
This permanent exhibition of the Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection, on loan to the city of Berlin for 10 years, is housed in a grand old building that was once a Prussian army barracks and stable.
It forms a triangular ensemble with the Schloss Charlottenburg and the Museum Berggruen, another outstanding private collection of 20th-century art focused on Matisse, Picasso, Klee and Giacometti.
